Commercial Manager

Omnibus are seeking to recruit a personable, proactive and entrepreneurial Commercial Manager to manage the sales and operational delivery of the Bar, Café and hires department. The role is for 4 days (32 hours) per week working alongside the existing Omnibus management team.

The successful candidate would be expected to maximise the potential income generated from our venue and provide excellent services to our audiences and clients.

With an understanding of the landscape of both the arts and the locality you will develop our customer experience. You will lead and motivate the operational teams and streamline our processes to generate commercial sales, achieve income targets, and raise the profile of Omnibus through the Bar/Café and hireable spaces within the venue.

We are looking for a strong and visionary commercially minded leader who has a high level of attention to detail and a passion for delivering customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, staff and budget management experience, an understanding of building management and operational compliance, ideally within a arts environment, and likely to have a commercial background with considerable sales experience.

Salary:  £27,000 p/a pro rata for 32 hours per week. (based on a 40 hour week)

Omnibus, opened in November 2013 as a multi-disciplinary arts centre, housed in the old Clapham Library, overlooking Clapham Common. The building contains a 90-seat studio theatre, a café/bar and two performance and rehearsal spaces. Our iconic building is central to the work we create, with the building innovatively re-imagined for different performances including site-responsive and promenade productions.
