Event Navigation

Amira loves space. One day her mother tells her that they must leave home and go on an adventure. Amira packs her bags for the intergalactic trip she’s been waiting for…

Every night Amira dreams of becoming an Astronaut. But one night, the bangs, whooshes and fizzes of her imagination explode right out of her dreams, becoming a deafening reality. In the darkness, Amira’s Mother tells her that they must leave their hometown to go on an adventure together, to find a new home: a safe space.

“Tessa Bide has absolutely mastered this art.”
A Younger Theatre

A completely original one woman show without words, A Strange New Space  melds physical theatre with stunning puppetry and original music. Tessa Bide takes the audience  on an imagined voyage into space and explores what it means to be a refugee as Amira’s real life journey takes her  across continents,. This is an unforgettable introduction to theatre for audience of three years and older.
