Samantha’s 18 year career thus far spans both the world of education and the world of theatre.  She is currently The Artistic Director of Little Angel Theatre, and prior to this she was Director of Projects at the Almeida Theatre, where she was course director for the Almeida component of the PG Certificate in Applied Theatre with Young People (in partnership with Central School of Speech and Drama).  Samantha is also an Education Associate for the Michael Grandage Company, and she has worked extensively for numerous organisations in the UK and abroad as a project manager and practitioner, working with, by and for young people. Samantha also managed the education department of the Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch.

Samantha is qualified to Masters level in Text and Performance (Kings and RADA), where she focussed on a Directing pathway.  Her first degree was in Theatre and Performance at the University of Warwick.  Samantha is also a trained teacher (PGCE / QTS), and taught English and Drama, both in a state secondary comprehensive and at an Independent school.  Samantha has directed numerous plays with young casts.  She has also written a large number of resource packs to accompany theatre productions at both the Queen’s Theatre and the Almeida Theatre, all including a combination of context material and practical activities.  She is also author of Directing Young People in Theatre – A Guide to Staging Plays with Young Casts (published by Palgrave and Macmillan).
